Orange, CA, May 12, 2010: This past week Diesel Emission Technologies development team retrofitted a New Holland B95 tractor utilizing our state of the art PureTrap™ DPF system and BackTraker™ driver notification system. The retrofit was completed as part of the California Air Resource Board’s off highway showcase program for the City of Torrance public works. The New Holland B95 is a key piece of equipment for the city’s public works center and could only be down for 2 days for development and installation. This application seemed to be mission impossible as company after company turned the tricky application down due to the limited availability of installation time, health and safety code issues arising from the DPF having to be mounted inside the small engine compartment and out of the drivers line of sight, a low temperature profile, and heat sensitive plastic side paneling. The development required the installation of two data logging units, as well as the fabrication of custom made inlet and outlet modules, mounting brackets, and a simple modification of the hood to suite the new tailpipe location. The PureTrap™ installation went smoothly and the city of Torrance has their B95 back in zero-emission form.
